AMIGUIS!*
*(Spanish slang for bestie)
Eclipse season is here and everyone wants tips on what to do during this cycle.
I am a word nerd. Whenever I can, I look up the etymology of words because I believe that words have spirits and there is something in the root of words that gives everything we say an additional layer of magic.
As we usher in eclipse season, it had me thinking, what was at the core of this word?
ECLIPSE: From Greek ekleipsis "an eclipse; an abandonment," literally "a failing, forsaking"
That is how emo and intense this season can feel.
Eclipses are the universe’s way of calling in changes, revelations, and sometimes, that plot twist you didn’t see coming. The Libra-Aries axis is all about us versus them, peace versus conflict, me loving pizza while all can eat right now are salads and bone broth because of a gut issue😩 – it’s finding harmony and balance amid our cosmic tug-of-war.
However, here’s the kicker: this isn’t just about surviving; eclipses move us into a space that allows us to thrive. It’s about turning what feels like cosmic chaos into your personal elevation. Whether you’re aiming to kickstart something new, fire up your love life, or simply get a clearer picture of where you're headed, the eclipses align us with experiences that allow our highest timeline to be possible.
If the stars are going to shake things up, we might as well enjoy the ride and maybe even learn a thing or two about ourselves along the way, no?
Lunar Eclipse in Libra, March 25: Libra is the sign of balance, harmony, and relationships. Libra eclipses are all about fine-tuning our connections with others. It’s like the universe asking, “Hey, is this relationship really for me?” Whether it's a business partnership or a romantic one, it’s time to reassess, reevaluate, and if necessary, rewrite the rules of engagement to make sure that these relationships are allowing you to maintain your peace.
Libra eclipses are all about the relationships we cherish and the bridges we build. They ask us to consider, "Are we giving as much as we're taking?" It's about finding that perfect equilibrium where everyone gets a slice of the cosmic pie. But beware, it's not just about keeping the peace at any cost. Sometimes, Libra reminds us that to achieve true harmony, saying things honestly, and not pleasing people, is a pathway to peace.
Solar Eclipse in Aries, April 8: Aries is the sign of the self, action, and boldly going where no one has gone before. Aries eclipses light a fire under our aspirations and individuality. They’re the cosmic pep talk we need to take action, assert ourselves, and embrace our independence. It’s the universe’s way of saying, “You’ve got this, now make it happen!”
Aries eclipses pump us full of adrenaline, urging us to chase our dreams with the heart of a warrior. They challenge us with questions like, "What mark do you want to leave?" and "Are you ready to stand up for yourself?" It's about embracing our individuality, making decisive moves, and not being afraid to go solo even if it means staying true to ourselves.
When these two forces collide in eclipse season, we will learn to make space for our needs and those around us. The trick? We can use this time to let the universe highlight where our boundaries with ourselves and others are clear. It's about leaning into relationships that empower us and actions that reflect our true selves.
Here are a few tips on how to navigate this season:
Breathe: Libra, the epitome of balance, teaches us the art of harmony. Start your day with a simple breathing exercise. Imagine inhaling peace and exhaling chaos. This practice can help maintain inner equilibrium, especially when the world seems a tad off-kilter. (Need support connecting to a breathing practice? Check out my friend Crystal and her video on breathwork for beginners)
Physical Activity: Channel Aries’ dynamic energy into physical activity. Whether it’s yoga, martial arts, or just a brisk walk, moving your body can help manage stress and keep emotions in check. Think of it as physically grounding the electrical charge of the eclipse season.
Set Boundaries: This season, learn to say no. Libra’s knack for harmony and Aries’ assertion combine to remind you that it’s okay to set boundaries. Protecting your peace isn’t selfish; it’s necessary, especially when cosmic energies are high.
Embrace Changes: Use the shift of eclipses for the initiation to embrace changes in your life. Eclipse season is always about change, so be open to the energy of transformation.
Eclipses are not for manifesting
Ok, you may think that is dramatic. Life will still make room for magical things to happen for you, but this is more of a surrender season. This is typically not when we actively make things happen.
Imagine that the universe rolling up its sleeves, broom in hand, for a bit of cosmic spring cleaning. Eclipses have a way of clearing out the old to make way for the new, often in ways we couldn't have orchestrated ourselves. It's a period when things are realigning, sometimes sweeping away the debris from our lives that no longer serves us, even if we're not quite ready to let go. This cleansing process, though it might feel chaotic, is setting the stage for new growth, opportunities, and paths to emerge. It’s a reminder that there's wisdom in letting go, in trusting the universe's plan over our own, especially when it seems like our personal manifesting powers are on a temporary hiatus.
We move from surviving to thriving when we are open to receiving rather than forcefully creating. Allow the changes that arise this season to guide you, clear the clutter, and reveal new horizons at their own pace. This doesn't mean you're passive; rather, you're actively engaging with the process of transformation, watching for signs, and preparing to step into the new spaces being cleared for you. By understanding this unique aspect of the eclipse season, you embrace the opportunity to recalibrate, reassess your desires and directions, and ultimately, make room for the opportunities waiting around the astrological corner.

For now, I leave you with this last tip:
It is important to focus on clarity and intention-setting to harness the magic of any eclipse season. Here is a ritual that combines elements of reflection, release, and forward-thinking, perfectly aligned with the energies of balance (Libra) and action (Aries).
Eclipse Season Ritual for Clarity and Intention
Materials:
A comfortable, quiet space
A candle (preferably white for purity and new beginnings)
Paper and a pen
A small bowl of water (representing emotional clarity)
A small bowl of salt (symbolizing grounding and purification)
A piece of clear quartz (for clarity) or any stone that resonates with you
Optional: Connect with a cuppa tea from Despierta teas, delightfully magical handcrafted infusions created by my friend
1. Create Your Sacred Space: Find a quiet, comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed. Arrange your materials in front of you. If you like, you can play some gentle, ambient music to set the mood and warm your soul with tea.
2. Grounding and Centering: Sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths. As you breathe in, imagine drawing in peace and balance. As you exhale, envision releasing any tension or confusion. Sprinkle a little salt into the water, stirring gently. This symbolizes the merging of grounding (earth) with emotional clarity (water).
3. Candle Lighting for Insight: Light the candle, focusing on its flame. Let it symbolize the light of clarity shining through the darkness of uncertainty. Say aloud or in your mind, "As this flame pierces the dark, so does clarity light my way through the eclipse season."
4. Reflection and Release: On a piece of paper, jot down aspects of your life where you seek clarity or feel out of balance. Be honest with yourself—this is for your eyes only. Once you’ve listed them, take a moment to reflect on each. For each item, ask yourself, "What steps can I take to find balance or clarity here?" Write your insights down.
5. Setting Intentions with Clear Quartz: Now, focus on what intentions you want to set for the coming cycle. What changes are you ready to embrace? How can you embody the balance of Libra and the initiative of Aries? Write these intentions down on a new piece of paper. Fold the paper and hold it against the clear quartz, imagining your intentions being charged with clarity and purpose. Place this paper somewhere you will see it daily.
6. Closing the Ritual: To close the ritual, dip your fingers into the bowl of saltwater. Sprinkle a few drops over the candle to extinguish it, saying, "With this, I cleanse and release the old, making way for new beginnings and clear intentions." Keep the stone with you or in a significant place as a reminder of your commitment to clarity and action.
7. Reflect and Revisit: In the days that follow, revisit your intentions as needed. Reflect on the how the universe is working with you to make that happen and remain open to the insights and opportunities that come your way
